HELLO EVERYONE! We are Tadas Abartis and Robertas Arlauskas from Gargzdai “Minija” progimnasium. We are so excited being involved in such a project…. We strongly believe that cultural heritage represents an important part of individual identity. Preservation of this identity is very important for the inhabitants of small and old places as it helps to strengthen intercultural competence and cultural consciousness. Therefore the students participating in the project will be provided with the great possibility to deepen their own cultural awareness, awareness of values, traditions, customs and rituals. In addition to this, participation in European projects develops knowledge and understanding of the diversity of European cultures. Participating in a partnership with schools from different countries gives us the opportunity to practice foreign language and increase our motivation towards language learning as well as to develop an attitude of interest and tolerance. We think it also helps students to acquire and improve skills of teamwork social relations, planning and undertaking project activities and using information and communication technologies (ICT) We already started making leaflets with the assistance of the arts teacher Alama Tamošausikienė. Also younger students participate in the project logo competition. The computer science teacher Renata Urbonienė kindly agreed to help with this natter. That’s all for now. What about you? We are looking forward to hearing from you.
